Comprehensively strengthen the construction of information 

 On May 19, 2022, Xiao Yaqing, Secretary of the leading Party group and Minister of the Ministry of industry and information technology, attended the opening ceremony of national Internet backbone direct connection points in Jinan and Qingdao by video and delivered a speech. Zhang Yunming, member of the Party group and vice minister of the Ministry, and Han Xia, chief engineer, attended the ceremony.

    Xiao Yaqing said that the CPC Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to the construction of information infrastructure. We should pay close attention to the implementation, base on the current situation, be moderately advanced, make scientific planning and pay attention to benefits, comprehensively promote the technological innovation and construction layout of information infrastructure, promote the coordinated development of construction, application, security and industry, accelerate the construction of a national information infrastructure system of "one network, full interconnection, ultra-high speed and strong empowerment", and build a solid foundation for the development of digital economy.

    Xiao Yaqing pointed out that the Internet backbone direct connection point is a key hub for network interconnection and an important part of the national information infrastructure, and a key task determined in the outline of the 14th five year plan. With the opening of 19 national direct link technology infrastructure, Qingdao has further improved the number and upgrading of national direct link technology, and provided favorable conditions for the establishment and opening of 19 national direct link technology infrastructure.

    Xiao Yaqing stressed that we should give full play to the aggregation and radiation role of Internet backbone direct connection points, actively explore good experiences and practices of integrated application, help the transformation of old and new kinetic energy, and support high-quality economic and social development. All interconnected units shall strictly implement the quality and safety management requirements of interconnected infrastructure, strengthen operation and maintenance, monitoring and early warning, improve emergency response capacity, and ensure the continuous safe, stable and efficient operation of direct connection points.
